Old town (Gaeta Medievale)

Sant'Erasmo is the historic heart: alleys, churches, the cathedral and the castle. Here you'll mostly find B&Bs and apartments in old buildings, steps from the port restaurants and the Favole di Luce lights. Note: many streets are steep or stepped, and there's a limited traffic zone (ZTL).

Lungomare Caboto and the port

The seafront links the modern centre to old Gaeta: a sea promenade, bars and restaurants, with the old town within walking distance. It's the handiest area for the Christmas lights and for arrivals by bus from Formia.

Serapo

On the other side of the headland is Serapo, Gaeta's long sandy beach with shallow water and plenty of beach clubs. The best choice for families and beach holidays, minutes from the centre.

Via Flacca: Ariana, Sant'Agostino, 300 Steps

The coast road towards Sperlonga runs above the gulf's finest coves. Hotels here sit on the sea, often with access to beaches and rocks: perfect for relaxing, but you'll need a car.
